Born from the success of Steel Jam and the Kyber Open, SolForge brings together two thriving combat communities to forge something entirely new.
At the heart of SolForge’s HEMA presence is Crossroads Swords, a Central Florida school dedicated to the study and practice of Historical European Martial Arts rooted in documented German and Italian traditions.
Crossroads Swords trains from a wide range of historical sources, including German longsword traditions such as Ringeck, Danzig, Lew, MS 3227a, Mair, and Meyer, as well as Italian masters like Fiore and Vadi. Their curriculum also extends beyond longsword to include one-handed weapons such as rapier, saber, sword and buckler, dagger, and other paired and multi-weapon systems.
Training emphasizes structured warm-ups, footwork, drills, historically grounded lessons, and controlled free play — with a strong focus on safety, discipline, and technical precision. This approach has earned Crossroads Swords a reputation within the HEMA community for both competitive excellence and thoughtful instruction.
Paired with The Saber Legion’s Florida Charter, which has spent five years shaping an LED saber event known for innovation, inclusivity, and unforgettable experiences, SolForge stands at a true crossroads — where steel meets light. Through workshops, sparring, and competition, the event is designed to elevate every fighter, whether they are a seasoned HEMA practitioner, an experienced saber competitor, or someone stepping into a new discipline for the first time.
